The Village of Union Springs worked with the Cayuga County Department of Planning & Economic Development to prepare a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) with funding from the NYS Department of State. This was a community project that began June 1, 2016 and culminated with the Village adopting new local laws to implement the LWRP on March 17, 2020 and adopting the LWRP document itself on September 16, 2020. The LWRP was approved by the NYS Secretary of State at the NYS Department of State on June 9, 2021.

 

The LWRP is a planning document for the village that provides a focus on revitalizing the waterfront and the downtown historic commercial district, both aesthetically and economically; and expanding or enhancing recreational opportunities in the community.
